The governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in Nasarawa State, Labaran Maku, has unveiled plans that would serve as the guide for his administration if elected governor in 2019 general elections.
Maku, unveiled his plans recently in Doma town, the headquarters of Doma local government area of Nasarawa State, during one of his campaign visits.
Maku, who is the former Minister of Information and the national secretary of APGA, said in the months ahead, he would present a number of proposals which make up his vision and plans for Nasarawa State.
He said he would do his best to meet as many electorates as possible and explain these plans, beliefs and convictions.
He also said that he would answer questions during the campaigns, “So you will have no doubt of where I stand on issues important to you.”
“As governor of Nasarawa State I do not intend to build another government from scratch. A government is a going concern and will remain so.
“As governor , what I will do is use that exalted office to make sure the Government of Nasarawa State works for the people of Nasarawa State, minimising waste and focusing on areas critical to the welfare of all Nasarawa State citizen.
“I will empower all arms of the government from the local governments up.
The local government is crucial and must be the first point of call for Nasarawa State citizens. We will promote a Nasarawa State accountable to all its people,” he said.
He promised to give jobs to the teeming youth of the state by placing them in jobs outside the country where their services are needed.
“We would look at alternative means such as freelancing as a viable means of employment. This allows you to gain employment work in other countries but from the comfort of your own home in Nasarawa State. It is already happening and my government will expand this trend,” he added.
