The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Legacy have concluded arrangements to hold a presidential debate to provide enabling environment for issue-based campaign.

The Presidential debate will involve some of the leading presidential candidates of the 2019 general elections, to showcase what they have to offer.

A statement signed by Dr. Kenny Martins, the grand patron of the association and made available to newsmen said CAN and Legacy, in continuation of their strategy to commit the country to the hands of God for a free and peaceful elections in 2019, will begin the election year with a national day of prayer in Abuja.

The statement reads in part: ‘’Legacy has also reached advanced stages of preparation with our partners of the Muslim faith to hold similar national programmes in Abuja and Lagos to sensitise Nigerians on the need for total submission to the will of God for our country.

‘’Whatever will be the outcome of the general elections, for peace and progress to continue to reign in Nigeria throughout the election period and afterwards.

‘’Members of the public are hereby enjoined to participate actively in all of these laudable programmes.’’
